Pearls of Wisdom
While I don't ever profess to be wise. I do spend a good amount of time thinking, probably too much time. I am a big fan of proverbs, little bundles of verse that pack a whole lifetime's worth of wisdom. I have come up with some of my own in my short time on earth. Maybe they will serve you as they have me.
- Never look so intently on your goal as to not see the obstacles that block you. Never focus on the obstacles so as to lose sight of your goal.
- The first day of spring feels so sweet because of winters bitterness
- The bitterest truth tastes better then the sweetest lie.
- The toughest and most difficult journey is usually the most worthwhile.
- The most common and horrible crime being committed today is parents not loving their children enough to discipline them.
- Everyone has in them the capacity for greatness, and everyone has in them the hurdles to stop them. Those that become great overcome the hurdles, and refuse to let them be bound to mediocrity.
- Sex in a relationship is like seasoning on a steak. Too much, and it overpowers the steak, not enough and the steak is bland. Just the right amount and it sets the taste buds alight.
- It is hard to say what kills more people. The pursuit of war and conquest, or the pursuit of peace.
- When the plans of the wise and learned fail, put your money on the idiots and the fools.
- Finding a person willing to die for a belief or a cause is easy, finding someone to live a life for a cause or a belief is much more challenging.
- A thief and murderer would not do their selfish acts if they stuck around and saw the effect it had on the victims.
- My job as a human being is to die a better person then I was raised. And to raise my children to be better people then I will die as.
- There are enough selfish, evil and malicious people in the world to think the worst about humanity to not be disappointed. Yet, there are enough kind, selfless and good people in the world to surprise you daily.
- Love isn't about finding the perfect person, but finding an imperfect person and loving them as they are.
- Stupidity isn't a lack of knowledge or inability to learn, but in the refusal to learn.
- The fear of death is debilitating, acceptance of death is empowering.
- I try to stand on the thin line where Intelligence loops around and joins with Utter Stupidity.
- Being Strong does not mean you do not know pain or fear, only that it does not control you.
